KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital made an extension of their hospital-the Neonatal ICU (Intensive Care Unit). So far, the Neonatal ICU is the largest neonatal hospital in Southeast Asia. The facility is made of thirty two beds with advanced medical features for babies.
The Minister of Health, Gan Kim Young took part in the launching of the facility last July 6, 2013. The facility was developed to cater the needs of new born babies. Mothers with babies suffering from complex conditions can now avail the facility. The facility can increase the chances of babies of making it alive.
To reduce the risk of babies from suffering complex conditions, you should live healthy when you are pregnant. Remember that what you do when you are pregnant can also affect the baby inside. Here are some things you need to consider:
- Exercise. You don’t need a strenuous exercise. You simply need to move your body so you will not encounter difficulties when giving birth. A thirty minute walk around a park will do the trick. Doctors will ask you to exercise.
- Eat right. Of course you need to eat the right food. You should consider foods that can enhance the development of the baby. You can ask the doctor about this. You can also refer to nutritionist.
- Sleep. When it is time to sleep, sleep just don’t overdo it.
- Positive thinking. The most important thing is positive thinking. You should do your best to maintain a positive mind or attitude despite your fears and doubts.
Seeing our baby suffer is very painful. If it is possible, we will take away all their sufferings and carry it ourselves. If our baby is suffering from complications despite our best efforts, we can’t do anything but to submit them to Neonatal ICU.
